         In connection with Admission Notification No. UBKV/PG/01/2011, dated: 22/07/2011 read with Notification no. Admn/UBKV/Dy.Reg.267 dated 01/09/2011, it is hereby notified that the residual Admission Programme for admission to two years M.Sc. (Agriculture) / M.Sc. (Horticulture) / M.Sc. (Forestry) course for 2011-2012 session are follows :-

Publication of merit list : 22/09/2011

Date of counseling and admission : 28/09/2011

Commencement of classes : 29/09/2011

         Merit list of candidates will also be available in this website.

         All concerned are informed accordingly.

Applications are invited for admission to two years M.Sc.( Agriculture) / M.Sc.(Horticulture) / M.Sc.(Forestry) course in the following disciplines for 2011-2012 session. The number of seats for different disciplines are mentioned below :

1. M. Sc. (Agriculture)

         (i)    Agricultural Economics - 5 seats (ICAR-1, SC-2, GEN-2)
         (ii)   Agricultural Entomology - 5 seats (ICAR-1, SC-1, ST-1, GEN-2)
         (iii) Agricultural Extension - 5 seats (ICAR-1, SC-1, ST-1, GEN-2)
         (iv) Agronomy - 5 seats (ICAR-1, SC-1, PWD-1, GEN-2)
         (v)   Genetics & Plant Breeding - 5 seats (ICAR-1, SC-1, GEN-3)
         (vi) Plant Pathology - 5 seats (ICAR-1, SC-1, GEN-3)
         (vii) Soil Science & Agril. Chemistry - 5 seats (ICAR-1, SC-1, GEN-3)

2. M. Sc. (Horticulture)

         (i)    Floriculture, Medicinal & Aromatic Plants - 3 seats (ICAR-1, ST-1, GEN-1)
         (ii)   Plantation Crops & Processing - 3 seats (SC-1, GEN-2)
         (iii) Pomology & Post Harvest Technology - 3 seats (SC-1, GEN-2)
         (iv) Vegetables & Spice Crops - 3 seats (SC-1, GEN-2)

3. M. Sc. (Forestry)

(i) Forestry - 3 seats (ICAR-1, GEN-2)

       Candidates who have passed in Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, Horticulture or Forestry from a recognized University with a minimum OGPA 6.5 in 10 point scale and at least 60% marks in Higher Secondary or equivalent examination may apply for admission. The minimum OGPA and marks for SC/ST/PWD candidates are 6.00 and 50% respectively. Candidates who have passed in Bachelors Degree with at least 60% marks (50% for SC/ST/PWD) under traditional system may also apply. The candidates intending to apply for more than one discipline shall have to submit separate application forms.

       Prescribed application forms and prospectus may be obtained from the Deputy Registrar’s Office (Admission Section) on all working days (Monday to Friday except holidays) on payment of Rs. 300/- (Rs.75/- for SC/ST category candidates) by cash or in the form of a Bank draft drawn on any nationalised bank in favour of "Uttar Banga Krishi Viswavidyalaya" payable at Cooch Behar.

Date of start of distribution of application form : 25/07/2011 (Between 11:00-15:00hrs.)

Last date of distribution & submission of application form : 17/08/2011 (Between 11:00-15:hrs.)

Publication of merit list : 24/08/2011

Date of counseling and admission : 06/09/2011

Commencement of classes : 07/09/2011

The application forms complete in all respect superscribing "Application form for admission to M.Sc. programme 2011-12" on top of the envelope, are to reach the Office of Deputy Registrar, Uttar Banga Krishi Viswavidyalaya, P.O.- Pundibari, Dist.- Cooch Behar, West Bengal - 736165 on or before the last date positively either by hand / post. Merit list of candidates will also be published on this website. The University reserves the right not to admit any candidate, if so decided by the Admission Committee.
